Routes begin from the Vernon Rec Centre 3310 37th Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2Y5
- Route 1 follows the 25th Ave multi-use trail to Kin beach and back. There are plenty of turn around points to ride shorter distances.
- Route 2 goes to Paddlewheel park the same way as Route 1, but turn left at Lakeshore, right on Okanagan Landing to Paddlewheel Hall and return. There are plenty of turn around points to ride shorter distances.
Short medium skilled routes:
Longer skilled routes (that NOCAT members won't be guiding)
- Route 3 is a loop trail that goes north to Village Green Mall, east to the BX Creek Trail and returns via Harwood area, an option to shorten the route, or continue through Historic Downtown Vernon. We will most likely guide this route on May 10th 2017.
- Route 4 will take riders from the rec centre going South along 34th St to 27th Av. where they will go west following 27th until the Shell station, get on the frontage road until Tronson, Tronson to Kin Beach on Lakeshore. On the return it will be Lakeshore to Okanagan Landing. East on that road to Okanagan Av. and follow that to 34th St to return to the Rec Centre. We will most likely guide this route on May 17th, 2017.
Longer skilled routes (that NOCAT members won't be guiding)
- Route 5 The BX Circle Route - Will take riders to the BX area via 39th Av., past Bean to Cup to 25th St., South to 42nd Av. east to 20th St. South to 46th Av. East crossing PV into the BX, where you will find the BX Press & Cidery then South on East Vernon Road, connect with Black Rocks, West on Black Rocks, South on Francis, West on 25th Av. and Cool Beans Coffee, all the way down the hill to 26th St., turn right North to 30th Av., West into Historic Downtown Vernon where you can enjoy many fine shops and eateries, then continue to 34th St. North to return to the Rec Centre.
- Route 6 Swan lake Circle route - Begin by riding North out of the Rec Centre parking lot to 39th Av., Head west, uphill, 39th Av., to Alexis Park Drive, turn right, North on Alexis Park crossing 48th Av. where the name changes to Old Kamloops Rd., visit Swan Lake Nature Reserve Trail if desired or continue North on Old Kamloops Rd., right on the Hwy 97, right on Highland Rd. and follow to Swan Lake Nursery for fresh local produce, a bakery and deli, return to Hwy 97 via Highland Rd., turn right, take cycling ramp to Greenhow Road, where you will find The Castle at Swan Lake Bistro south to intersection with Pleasant Valley Rd. (known locally as PV), south on PV where you will find The Squires Four Pub at Stickle Road, Groceries at Butcher Boys, two Bike shops on 48th Av. SkyRide with Ratio Coffee & Pastry and Olympia Cycle. Continue to 39th Av. Option to return to the Rec Centre via 39th Av. (turn right) or continue along PV as it curves right (West) becoming 30th Av. into Vernon's Historic Downtown - visit the many interesting shops or enjoy a meal at one of Vernon's many eateries, then continue to 34th St. Turn right on 34th St. going North to return to the Rec Centre.
