Join cyclists of all ages and ability at the People's Place for a Community Bike Ride! The North Okanagan Coalition for Active Transportation (NOCAT) will be guiding six consecutive Wednesday night rides beginning at 6 PM sharp. There is no fee to join. Participants will require a bicycling helmet and a reliable bicycle.
This family fun, ‘All Age and Ability’ ride will introduce active families to each other and provide an opportunity to meet new friends of similar ages and abilities. The first two of the six rides begin at the People Place, 3402 27 Ave Vernon. Participants are asked to park on the west of the building. The route follows the 25th Ave multiuse trail west to Kin Beach but participants are encouraged to go only as far as they or their family are capable of. The goal of the North Okanagan Coalition for Active Transportation’s is to see more people walking and riding bicycles more often by encouraging citizens to support infrastructure development that will enhance safe and active transportation and connect to the upcoming Okanagan Rail Trail. You can read more about the routes and download the maps here http://nocat.weebly.com/route-descriptions.html Or contact: [email protected] Get more information about NOCAT at nocat.weebly.com or search for NOCAT on Facebook.

Kerry CarlsonKerry is happiest when she's out of her car and on her bicycle. As a community physiotherapist, she'd love to see more people of all ages engaging in an active lifestyle by walking and bicycling to where they need to go! Bruce MolBruce keeps active by walking and running in the Vernon area. When not on foot you can often see him on bicycle, with his trailer, shopping locally or taking his recycling to the depot. Bruce has also been a CAN-BIKE bicycling skills instructor for over 20 years. See www.gonecycling.com |
